Ryan Gates, the first employee of the Lake Erie Crushers and the general manager who directed the team to winning the Frontier League title in its inaugural season in 2009, is leaving the team to take a job with the Tampa Bay Rays Class A affiliate in Kentucky, the team announced Tuesday morning.
Gates will be general manager of the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
The team has not yet announced a replacement. This coming season, the Crushers will be hosting the Frontier League All-Star Game .
