Fireworks For July 4th In Avon Lake

The city's Independence Day celebration will actually happen July 3rd. Probably so residents can sleep in the next day.

AVON LAKE, OH — The city's annual Independence Day celebration will play double-duty this year. The vaunted Bicentennial Celebration will kick-off July 3, amidst fireworks and food trucks, as the city celebrates both its own birth and the birth of the nation. The event will be held at Weiss Fields, 33401 Webber Road.

The Tuesday celebration will start at 6 p.m. and continue till about 10:30 p.m. Besides fireworks (which the city promises will be bigger and better than ever), a litany of activities for the family will fill the itinerary. The night will include classic carnival games, a bounce obstacle course and slide, Jungle Bob, giveaways, and food trucks selling pizza, BBQ and ice cream.

Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., there will be a music and color guard ceremony from Says She. Then, a little after 7 p.m., Revolution Pie (a Beatles tribute band) will take the stage. Their performance will continue until the fireworks start.
