Former Cleveland Indian Will Play 1 Game For Lake Erie Crushers

A key part of the 2007 AL Central winning team will be the team's designated hitter for one night only.

AVON, OH — The Lake Erie Crushers will have a special guest on Travis Hafner Night — Travis Hafner. The 40-year-old slugger will join the team on June 16 for a one-off special appearance as the team's designated hitter.

"We are so excited to have Travis join us for our June 16th game," said Crushers Co-Owner Tom Kramig. "We believe the fans will really enjoy watching Travis return to the field and take a few swings. He played so many great seasons in Cleveland and it will be great to see him take the field one more time."

Hafner spent 10 years with the Cleveland Indians and was a key cog on some really good teams. Most notably, he was part of the 2007 squad that won the AL Central title and lost a seven-game series, in heartbreaking fashion, to the Boston Red Sox.

Over the course of his career, Hafner hit 213 home runs, most of which came with the Tribe. He slammed six grand slams in 2006, tied for the Major League record. His last active season in the majors was 2013, when he played for the New York Yankees.

Hafner will take batting practice with the team and hang around after the game to sign autographs. Tickets for the game are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here.
