Free New Year's Eve Rides Offered In Cleveland-Elyria

A Cleveland law firm is paying for rides on Dec. 31. The firm said it wants to decrease drunk driving during the holiday.

CLEVELAND — New Year's Eve party people in the Cleveland and Elyria areas can get free rides on Dec. 31 thanks to a local law firm.

Tittle & Perlmuter will reimburse riders in the metro areas for using Uber, Lyft, taxis, or other ride services on New Year's Eve. The law firm is calling it the "Get Home Alive Free Holiday Rides" program.

The law firm said it wants to decrease the probability of drunk driving in the community and promote safety in the Greater Cleveland area. Nearly 40 percent of traffic deaths on New Year's Eve are related to drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
