Halloween In Avon, Avon Lake: Trick-or-Treat Times, Other Festivities
Get into the swing of Halloween with this array of upcoming events in Avon and Avon Lake.

AVON, OH — Start carving the jack-o-lanterns, the spookiest holiday of the year is nearly upon us. Halloween trick-or-treating will be held Oct. 31 in both Avon and Avon Lake. Both cities will have their official door-to-door festivities from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Looking for something geared more toward adults? Look no further. On Oct. 11, the Avon Public Library is helping organize Books and Brews — A Head Full Of Ghosts By Paul Tremblay — Avon Brewing Company.
The actual event will be held at the Avon Brewing Company, 37040 Detroit Road, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Preregistration is not required but participants will be responsible for their own drinks. Avon Lake will also host its annual Boo by the Woods: The Trail of Haunted Tales event on Oct. 21. Tickets for the outdoors portion of the event are already sold out, but the activities at the Avon Lake Library and in the library parking lot are not ticketed. All events are family friendly. That same night, tweens and teens will be invited to the Super Sweet Haunted Houses event at the Avon Public Library. Participants will created haunted gingerbread houses. The event runs from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All treats are provided by the library, which says the event is perfect for students in grades 5-12.

Ghost hunters from Tri-C will present evidence of the existence of spectral beings Oct. 24 at the Avon Public Library. The presenters have explored and investigated more than 200 locations throughout the nation and will discuss their most exciting findings during 90 minute events, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
On Oct. 27, teenagers will be locked into Avon Lake Public Library as part of the Teen Halloween Lock-In. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., participants can decorate a pumpkin, take part in a costume contest or play humans vs zombies. The event is open to kids 12-17. Registration can be filled out here.
Finally, on Oct. 28, preschool through fifth grade students can hear some not-so-scary stories at the Avon Public Library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more about that event by clicking here.
