Hazardous Swimming For Lake Erie Beachgoers Wednesday
The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement to swimmers. That warning is in place until 4 p.m.

Swimming in Lake Erie could be dangerous Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement warning beachgoers against taking a dip in the water.
"A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when swimming risks exist from a combination of wind and large waves including rip currents and longshore currents. These swimming risks can create life-threatening conditions even for good swimmers. Follow the instruction of local authorities or stay out of the water," the National Weather Service said.
The Beach Hazards statement is in place until at least 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The statement applies to beaches in Cuyahoga, Erie, Lake and Lorain counties.

Following storms last night, the National Weather Service is warning there is a swimming risk because of waves and dangerous currents in Lake Erie. There is also a slight chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday.
The rest of the week should make for good beach-going, with clear blue skies and temperatures in the low-80s. Delay the beach trip for one day and then hit the waters.
