Hinkley's Avon Lake Expansion Begins Construction
The decorative lighting and ceiling fan company has planned a 130,000 square foot expansion in Avon Lake.
AVON LAKE, OH — Work began Wednesday on Hinkley's expansion in Avon Lake.
The lighting company is adding 130,000 square feet of space to its headquarters and Central Distribution Center for warehousing and fulfillment. The goal is to speed up order processing while increasing how much stock the company can hold at once.
“This investment allows us to increase inventory while expanding our warehouse and production capacity, in addition to adding light automation capabilities,” said Hinkley President Jess Wiedemer of the expansion, noting that it will support distribution partners as well as employees. “We’ll have increased product availability and ship it quickly to keep pace with heightened demand and consumer expectations.”

Hinkley considered expanding its presence on the west coast, but ultimately decided to consolidate and increase its investment in Avon Lake.

“The continuing support from the City of Avon Lake was an important factor in our decision to expand here,” said Eric Wiedemer. Jess Widemer agreed, "This is a superior place to live, work and raise our families and we are excited for Hinkley to be a part of the growing Avon Lake community."
