I-90 Construction Projects Could Impact Avon, Avon Lake Drivers

Several projects will result in lane closures and traffic congestion on I-90 this month.

AVON, OH — Parts of I-90 will undergo lane closures starting Monday to clear the way for a resurfacing project. The project will occur in three Lorain County cities: Avon, Elyria and Sheffield Village.

The resurfacing project will start Monday and will continue into October. The county said nightly lane closures will occur, though traffic will be maintained.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said it is also working on a bridge replacement along I-90 in Lorain County, over the SR 2 split. During the construction, I-90 west will be reduced to one lane of traffic. SR 2 east will be maintained with two lanes of traffic. The I-90/SR 2 west ramp to the Ohio Turnpike will be closed Thursday and Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for structural repairs.
