Inmates Vaccinated Against COVID-19 At Lorain County Jail
A COVID-19 vaccination clinic was held recently at Lorain County Jail.
ELYRIA, OH — A COVID-19 vaccination clinic was held at the Lorain County Jail this week.
The Lorain County Health Department administered vaccines to 48 inmates, according to Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti. Participation in the clinic was voluntary.
Inmates received either the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the Moderna vaccine. For inmates receiving the Moderna vaccine, the Lorain County Health Department will return at a future date to administer second doses.

Vaccines will also be offered again to inmates who did not participate at the first clinic when the health department returns to the jail.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, 149,909 Lorain County residents have received at least part of a COVID-19 vaccine. That means 48.38 percent of the county is vaccinated, as of Thursday.
