Level 2 Travel Advisory Issued In Lorain County
The Lorain County Sheriffs are asking residents to stay indoors due to the snow storm.
AVON LAKE, OH — The Lorain County Sheriff's office has issued a Level 2 travel advisory for residents.
Sheriff Phil Stammitti said residents should only leave their homes if absolutely necessary. A winter storm warning has been issued for Lorain County.
Between 8 and 12 inches of snow will fall between Monday night and Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service warned. Winds of up to 20 mph will sweep through the region, making travel particularly hazardous.

"Travel will become very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute on Tuesday," the National Weather Service said.
Winds could hit 30 mph during the height of the storm. Wind chills will make it feel nearly 0 degrees outside, forecasters said.

"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," the National Weather Service said.
The winter storm warning will remain in effect until at least 1 p.m. Tuesday.
