Lorain County Offers Second Round Of Small Business Grants

Small businesses in Lorain County have a new opportunity to ​receive grants from the Lorain County COVID-19 Small Business Emergency fund.

AVON, OH – Small businesses in Lorain County have a new opportunity to receive grants from the Lorain County COVID-19 Small Business Emergency Relief Program with a second round of grants for those impacted by the new coronavirus outbreak.

The emergency fund supports businesses within Lorain County with between three and 20 employees. Grants are offered for up to $2,500.

Funds for the emergency grant for Lorain County come from the City of Avon, Lubrizol, US Bank and PNC Bank. Proceeds from the sale of "Lorain County Strong" T-shirt campaign also support the emergency fund for small businesses.

"We are very happy to be able to continue to help our Lorain County Businesses by providing an additional round of grants, especially now as businesses are reopening," said Lisa Hutson, Director of the SBDC at LCCC, in a prepared statement. "We are grateful for the new funding stream and the generosity of all who participated."

Applications for the second round of small business grants will open on May 18 at 8 a.m. on the County Chamber's website. Applications that were previously submitted for other Lorain County communities will be considered as well.
