MAC Baseball Tournament Starts Play In Avon This Week

Kent State, Ohio, Miami of Ohio, Ball State and other universities will be playing at Sprenger Stadium.

AVON, OH — The Mid-American Conference's 2019 Baseball Tournament starts play on Wednesday in Avon's Sprenger Stadium.

There will be two games on Wednesday, according to the recently revealed tournament bracket. The first match-up will see two Ohio-based universities square off: Kent State and Ohio. That game will be played at 12:30 p.m. The winner will play No. 1 seed Central Michigan on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The second game of the tournament will feature Miami (of Ohio) University versus Northern Illinois. That game will start at 6 p.m. The winner will play No. 2 seed Ball State on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Tournament play could continue through Sunday, May 26. There will be games each day this week starting Wednesday.

The MAC baseball tournament is held in Northeast Ohio annually, according to MAC officials. Each tournament generates around $360,000 in economic activity, the officials added.

Tickets for the games are available in a variety of packages and at a variety of prices. Children 3 and under are always free. Passes for the whole tournament are:

  • Adults - $40
  • Students w / ID - $25
  • Youth (4-17) - $25

Day passes are:

  • Adults - $15
  • Students w / ID - $10
  • Youth (4-17) - $10

Championship day tickets and Sunday tickets are:

  • Adults - $10 / $5
  • Students w / ID - $8 /$4
  • Youth - $8 / $4

For fans that can't make it into the stadium, all of the tournament games will be streamed live on the ESPN+ app.
