Maker Space Studios Ribbon Cutting On Friday
The Maker Space Studios will open its doors on Oct. 2.
AVON LAKE, OH — After months of preparation, the Maker Space Studios will have a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday.
Located at 690 Avon Belden Road, next to Salad KraZe, the studio will serve as a one-stop-shop for artists. There will be space for classes, galleries and creation of art of various types. The studio will also host rotating pop-up shops throughout the year. The ribbon cutting will be done at 4 p.m. on Friday.
The studio is owned by Christine Scott and run by managing partner Lisa Bridenbaker. Both women trace their roots back to Avon Lake schools, though their paths diverged after graduation. Bridenbaker became an artist, while Scott got involved in the world of commercial real estate.

City officials said Maker Space Studios is unlike any other business in Avon Lake.
"We said in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan that we adopted last year that we want businesses that provide unique experiences for our residents. I think that over time, The Maker Space Studios will become a great example of what we had in mind," said Ted Esborn, Avon Lake's economic development director.

Both Scott and Bridenbaker said working with Avon Lake officials has been a breeze.
“It has been great getting to know Lisa and Christine,” Esborn said. “We think people are going to enjoy spending their time in the place that they have created, whether they are learning, creating, or shopping."
