Alleged Stalker Killed 24-Year-Old Lorain Woman: Police

A video that captured the events leading up to the death of Kristin Malinowski, of Lorain, on Saturday helped police identify her killer.

LORAIN, OH — A 55-year-old Amherst Township man has been identified by police as the killer of a 24-year-old Lorain woman over the weekend, according to media reports. When Lorain police went to the man’s home to serve an arrest warrant on Sunday, he fatally shot himself in the head.

Police identified the suspected killer as Jeffrey Shindler, according to reports. Police said that events leading up to the shooting death of Kristin Malinowski at her Oberlin Avenue home late Saturday evening were caught on video. That video, which was discovered by police, enabled them to identify Shindler as the suspect, according to reports.

While police have not indicated a motive for Shindler to attack Malinowski, but a friend and aunt indicated he was stalking her.
