Powerful Winds Blow Through Lorain County

Gusts of winds could cause limited power outages and down tree branches.

AVON LAKE, OH — Powerful wind gusts could blow through parts of Lorain County on Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service warned.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the agency said in a hazardous weather outlook.

Winds could hit 30 to 50 mph throughout parts of northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Blasts of wind could continue through early Friday.

The National Weather Service urged northern Ohioans to "use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle." Ohioans should also, "secure outdoor objects."

Rain is likely to continue throughout Thursday, according to current forecasts. Conditions should dry out by Friday morning, with most precipitation gone by 9 p.m. Thursday.
