Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio Awarded $10,000 Donation through Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® Emergency Community Support Grants

Companies Assist Cobos Insurance Center in Giving Back to Local Communities During COVID-19 Crisis

Elyria, OH (May 12, 2020) – Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance announce a $10,000 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio – nominated by Roberto Cobos of Cobos Insurance Center - as part of an Emergency Community Support Grant to help independent insurance agents give back to their local community during the COVID-19 crisis. The donation will go directly to Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious food to people needing assistance.

“My team and I have recognized the hard work and dedication performed by Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio during this pandemic and we are incredibly thankful for Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance for providing extra funds to help the community when we need it most,” said Cobos with Cobos Insurance Center. “Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and the $10,000 donation will help them continue to make a difference to the community they serve.”

Second Harvest of North Central Ohio is continuing to fight hunger through the Covid-19 crisis and are selflessly serving the local community in a time of uncertainty. Last week, the organization distributed 450,000 pounds of food. That's six times the amount it usually hands out in a week. The $10,000 donation will help Second Harvest of North Central Ohio to continue providing food on an ongoing basis and assist other local food banks distribute food to local communities.

“The goal of the Emergency Community Support Grants is to help our independent agents make an immediate impact during this critical time in the local communities where they live and work,” said Alexis Holzer, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Independent Agent Giving Program Manager.
