Steel Armory Opens Saturday In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — Steel Armory — a shooting sports products store — will celebrate its opening on Saturday morning.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will officially welcome the business into Avon Lake. The storefront is located in Beach Park Station, 33485 Lake Road.

“I decided on this particular location due to the lake front,” said Steel Armory owner Justin Snider. “I believe that this area is on the rise, and it made sense for a gun store to be near where people like to fish. Most people who like to fish also like to take part in shooting sports and I wanted to be able to serve their needs.”

Steel Armory received the Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business distinction from the Veterans Administration. Snider supports other veteran-owned businesses by selling their products in his shop, he said. For example, customers can purchase Black Rifle Coffee or shirts from Grunt Style, two veteran-owned businesses.

“Simply come on in take a look around, and if you have questions, I’ll be here to answer them,” Snider said. “I’m not a big box store. I like every customer to know that they’re important to me. You’ll get a personal experience here, and you’ll know that you have a friend to come and talk shop with. I’m not a salesman. I started this business to help people enjoy shooting sports.”

“We are glad that Avon Lake can be the home for a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business,” said Ted Esborn, the city’s economic development director. “Avon Lake prides itself on supporting veterans, and it is great to see Justin supporting other veteran-owned businesses by selling their products in his shop. And to have another business locating in Avon Lake because of our improving business climate — that gives us a lot of motivation to keep pursuing our economic development efforts.”
