Superintendent Leaving Avon Schools
Avon Schools Superintendent Mike Laub will head to the North Royalton Schools this summer.

AVON, OH — Mike Laub is leaving the Avon Schools to become superintendent of the North Royalton Schools.
The North Royalton Board of Education approved a three-year contract for Laub last week. He will officially begin work in North Royalton on July 1, 2021.
Laub has been superintendent of the Avon Schools for nine years. He previously held roles as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, human resources director and coach for Westlake and Strongsville Schools.

"Mr. Laub has the experience, vision and ability to make a positive impact in our School District. His leadership at Avon has proven his ability to develop a model district. We are confident that Mr. Laub’s passion for learning will allow us to continue to inspire and empower the learners of the North Royalton City Schools. We also are appreciative of our school and community stakeholders who were instrumental in providing their thoughts and assistance through the search process," said North Royalton Schools Board President Heidi Dolezal.
Laub currently lives in Avon with his wife, Julie, a teacher in the Strongsville Schools. Laub's daughter is a sophomore at Avon High School and his son, Michael, is a cadet in the U.S. Air Force Academy.
