Thunderstorms, Flooding Possible In Lorain County

Heavy rainfall could cause flooding in parts of Northeast Ohio on Tuesday evening.

AVON, OH — As temperatures continue to seesaw, thunderstorms and showers are expected to hit much of Northeast Ohio on Tuesday. Some areas could see large hail, damaging winds, flooding or even an isolated tornado, the National Weather Service warned.

Storms are expected to hit the region on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather outlook. Much of Northeast Ohio has been classified at being in "slight risk" because of the possibility of storms.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued for much of Northeast Ohio, including Lorain County.

A quarter inch of rain could fall during the day on Tuesday, though areas hit by thunderstorms will see higher rainfall totals. More rain could fall overnight, with thunderstorms set to hit much of Northeast Ohio, including Lorain County, on Tuesday evening.

A half inch of rain could fall overnight, the National Weather Service said.

Storms are expected on Wednesday and Thursday, according to current forecasts from the National Weather Service. However, rainfall should be light on those days than Tuesday.
