Thunderstorms Possible In Lorain County This Week
Heavy rain and damaging winds could sweep through the area, the National Weather Service warned.
AVON, OH — A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Lorain County. Thunderstorms could hit the area on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
A round of thunderstorms could hit Lorain County between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain and even, possibly, hail. The National Weather Service blamed an approaching cold front for the storms.
Lorain County issued an alert to residents, warning them to protect their basements if they're prone to flooding during storms. Currently, there is only a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the area.

Additional storms could hit Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
"Some strong thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon, mainly along and south of US-30. Main hazards are damaging winds and heavy rain," the agency warned.

Temperatures will jump into the upper 80s on Friday, which could lead to thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
