Troy Intermediate School PTA Hosting Shoe Drive To Benefit Needy

The drive runs through Dec. 19 to raise funds for the local PTA while also helping families in countries in Central America and Africa.

AVON LAKE, OHIO – The Troy Intermediate School PTA will be conducting a shoe drive that will run through Dec. 19 to help raise funds but that will also benefit micro-enterprises in developing nations.

New or gently-used shoes may be taken either to Troy Intermediate School or to the Old Firehouse Community Center and the PTA will earn money based on the total weight of shoes collected. All of the shoes donated will be purchased by Funds2Orgs, which will then distribute the shoes through its network of micro-enterprise partners in places like Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa.

Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house families in those countries.
