Undefeated Avon Football Rolls Into State Playoffs
The Eagles ran the gauntlet in the regular season, finishing an impressive 10-0. Now, who will they face in the postseason?

AVON, OH — The undefeated Avon Eagles football team will roll into the postseason with a perfect record of 10-0 and the number one seed in Division II, Region 6. The Eagles will head into the regional quarterfinals where they will square off with 8-seeded Toledo St. John's Jesuit.
Toledo St. John's finished the season 6-4. Avon finished with the perfect record and demolished Berea-Midpark High School in the final game of the regular season. The Eagles won their final game 63-35, which could easily be the score of a lopsided high school basketball game.
The Division II, Region 6 playoff teams are: 1. Avon (10-0), 2. Wadsworth (10-0), 3. Olmsted Falls (9-1) 4. Medina Highland (8-2) 5. Whitehouse Anthony Wayne (9-1), 6. Grafton Midview (8-2), 7. Sylvania Northview (8-2), 8. Toledo St. John's Jesuit (6-4).

This year's Ohio high school football playoffs will be composed of 224 schools across all division. A total of 719 schools had a team suit up and take the gridiron this year.
Five schools are in the playoffs for the first time. Traditional powerhouses like Avon will not be making their maiden voyage into the post-season. Instead, they return with hopes of glory in late November.
Teams that win out and make the state championship game (which the Eagles surely hope to do) will find themselves taking the field in Canton Nov. 30. The title games will be played at Massillon Paul Brown Stadium and Canton Fawcett Stadium.
Championship games were previously played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, but natural grass was recently installed at the horseshoe and Ohio State University asked OHSAA to find a new home for the title games.
