Winter Storm Aftermath: How Much Snow Did Lorain County Get?

Heavy snowfall, cutting winds and frigid temperatures all gripped northern Ohio this week.

ELYRIA, OH — Nearly 11 inches of snow blanketed parts of North Ridgeville after Tuesday's winter storm, the National Weather Service announced.

The agency released its snowfall totals for communities around Northeast Ohio, including Lorain County. After the storm had concluded, a trained spotter recorded 11 inches of snow on the ground in North Ridgeville.

Other communities in Lorain County fared a little better than North Ridgeville. Here's how much snow surrounding communities got:

  • North Ridgeville — 11 inches
  • Elyria — 9 inches
  • Southeast Elyria — 7 inches

An additional round of snowfall will hit northern Ohio on Thursday and Friday, though accumulation is expected to be much lighter than Tuesday's storm. Temperatures are also plunging into the record books, setting new marks for overnight lows in northern Ohio.

Wednesday morning had a low of 4 degrees, a two-year low for the region. With wind chill, temperatures feel sub-zero for anyone venturing outside.
