Beachwood Delivers Extended Through March

The meal-delivery program has saved local restaurants nearly $17,000.

BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood Delivers program has been extended through March, city officials announced Monday.

The program works similar to UberEats, allowing residents to order food from a Beachwood-based restaurant and have it delivered to their home. Unlike UberEats, and other meal-delivery services, the city does not charge a fee for intra-municipality deliveries, saving both residents and restaurants money.

As of last week, Beachwood Delivers has moved nearly $56,000 of food from Beachwood restaurants to Beachwood residents. Participating restaurants have saved $17,000 that would otherwise have gone to delivery apps.

“In addition to the savings enjoyed by our participating restaurants, the residents and employees of Beachwood have saved at least $33,000 in menu upcharges, increased taxes, and service and delivery fees by ordering through Beachwood Delivers in the past two months. With numbers like that, extending Beachwood Delivers through March was an easy decision,” said Beachwood Mayor Martin Horwitz.

The program is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Order cut-off is 7:30 p.m. There is a $25 order minimum.
