Beachwood Delivers Program Saves Local Restaurants $8,000
The municipal program cuts the need for food-delivery services and allows restaurants to keep more of their profits.
BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood Delivers program has been extended through February, the city announced.
The program works similar to UberEats, allowing residents to order food from a Beachwood-based restaurant and have it delivered to their home. To qualify for Beachwood Delivers, orders must be at least $25. Once the order is placed, the restaurant calls for a delivery driver from the city.
The program allows restaurants to avoid using delivery-service apps, which sometimes grab as much as 30 percent of the ticket price of an order. The program is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Order cut-off is 7:30 p.m.
