Beachwood Schools Closed Wednesday, Thursday
Extreme cold is shuttering schools across Northeast Ohio. Wind chill temperatures could plunge as low as -35 degrees.

BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood Schools will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to extreme cold.
The school district announced its closure on Monday afternoon. School districts around Northeast Ohio are closing in advance of dangerous and extreme cold hitting the region.
Wind chill temperatures are expected to plunge to -35 degrees or lower on Wednesday and Thursday, making for a dangerous environment. The National Weather Service described exposure to those temperatures as potentially "life-threatening."

"Wednesday may be the first time since January 1994 that highs remain below zero in many locations. Low temperatures Wednesday and Thursday morning will be the lowest the region has felt since February 2015 and could break daily records by several degrees," the National Weather Service said.
