Beachwood Woman Robbed By Acquaintance: Police Blotter

Plus, police catch a shoplifter at Beachwood Place Mall, a drunk driver is caught with an open container, and more.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A Beachwood woman was robbed by an acquaintance on Sunday, according to police reports obtained by Patch. The woman told police she had been thrown to the ground, and her acquaintance stole her cell phone.

The robbery happened near the Hamptons Building I, at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, police reported.

Warrant Served, Jan. 18 — A man was taken into custody at a Marathon gas station on a warrant through the Shaker Heights Municipal Court.

OVI, Jan. 19 — At 2 a.m., on Belvoir Boulevard, police stopped a car that was speeding and drifting out of its lane. The driver had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and was arrested for driving intoxicated.

Theft by Deception, Jan. 19 — A taxi driver was ripped off by a woman near the Fairfield Inn on Orange Place.

License Suspension, Jan. 19 —A woman was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Shoplifting, Jan. 20 — Police caught a girl stealing merchandise from the makeup store Sephora, at Beachwood Place Mall. The police report said the girl had approximately $73 of merchandise on her.
