Cash Prizes Available In Middle, High School Art Contest
The art contest is open to students throughout the Cleveland-area and is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A cash award and publication are up for grabs in the 2019 2019 Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah (Cleveland’s commemoration of the Holocaust & Heroism) Contest. This year's theme is "What Happened After," focusing on Holocaust survivors and the paths they took to rebuilding their lives.
The annual art contest is open to middle and high school writers and artists in the Cleveland-area. Essays and art pieces will be judged on their interpretation of the theme, originality and technique. Cash prizes of up to $2,500 may be awarded. Winners and their schools will be recognized at the Yom Hashoah Commemoration on May 1, 2019 at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation.
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland, which sponsors the contest, said Holocaust survivors frequently spent time in displaced person camps. Other survivors immigrated to a new country, forced to acclimate to new culture.
