Justin Berns Running For Beachwood Mayor
The Beachwood City Councilperson wants to be the city's next mayor.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Justin Berns declared his candidacy for Beachwood mayor on Tuesday.
Berns, 51, a Beachwood City Councilperson and lifelong resident of the city, believes he has the requisite "energy, experience and acumen" to address the city's current and future needs.
“After discussions with many concerned citizens, community leaders, stakeholders and business owners, I feel compelled to seek this office to re-establish the reputation and integrity belonging to one of Ohio’s most desirable communities,” Berns said.

Besides living in Beachwood his whole life, Berns has worked as a volunteer firefighter for the city, been a member of the city's planning and zoning commission, and was then selected to fill an unexpired term on city council in May 2010. In 2015, he was elected to city council for a full term.
Professionally, Berns owns a custom home building company. He believes this experience gives him special insight into the planning, budgeting and implementation of infrastructure improvements, particularly important as Beachwood matures, he said.
