Professor Disappears In Orange Village, Have You Seen Him?

Thomas Short was supposed to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family on Thursday. He never showed up.

ORANGE VILLAGE, OH — A professor from Pennsylvania disappeared while visiting family in Northeast Ohio over Thanksgiving. Orange Village Police are asking the public for help in locating the man.

Thomas Short was last seen on Nov. 18 in Orange Village where he was supposed to have Thanksgiving with his family, police there confirmed. However, he did not show up for dinner on Nov. 22.

University Heights Police said there is no evidence of foul play in the disappearance. Short is a 6 feet 1 inch tall, white man, with blond hair and blue eyes. Short was previously a professor at John Carroll University, in University Heights.

Short has not reached out to his family since going missing. According to social media posts from his family, Short's vehicle, suitcase, and phone were found at the hotel where he was staying, but he never picked up a key at his room.

His sister said that a receipt for a grocery store was also found among his belongings, dated Sunday, Nov. 18.

Short is an associate professor of mathematics at West Chester, where he focuses in statistical consulting and statistics education.

He earned his Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon University.
