BEACHWOOD, OH — The launch of the Maltz Museum's new exhibit, Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, shattered attendance records for the museum.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of positive feedback from guests who attended the virtual launch event and also from those who have explored the exhibition, in-person and online,” said David Schafer, managing director of the Maltz.

The virtual kick-off event on Feb. 24, featuring "Notorious RBG" authors Irin Cameron and Shana Knizhnik, garnered more than 700 registrations, doubling the 15-year-old museum's attendance record. Admission tickets sold out for the exhibit in the first week, museum officials said.

“The success of the virtual launch event is a direct result of trying something new. We were able to offer significantly more virtual seats than would have been possible in-person. And, for anyone considering a trip to the museum, please know that you must buy a timed ticket in advance, wear a face mask, and practice social distancing," Schafer said.

The exhibit will remain at the Maltz Museum through Aug. 29.

The Maltz Museum said the exhibit, like the book, makes playful reference to Ginsburg's similarities to rap icon Notorious B.I.G., who, like Ginsburg, was born and raised in Brooklyn. Each section of the exhibit will play on a B.I.G. lyric or song.
