Shoplifter Busted At Beachwood Mall, Charged For Corrupting Minor

A juvenile boy was arrested alongside the adult shoplifter, according to police records.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police were busy over the weekend. Officers busted multiple people for driving intoxicated, a pair of shoplifters at the mall, and investigated a forgery claim at a local hotel. Read more about each of those incidents in the police blotter below.

OVI, October 19 — Police stopped a car on Shaker Boulevard for multiple lane violations. The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle impaired.

Disorderly Conduct, October 19 — A man was found walking through the Buick GMC of Beachwood Dealership, intoxicated, on late Friday night. The man was unable to take care of himself, police said, so he was arrested.

Forgery, October 19 — A man was arrested after he tried to use two credit cards at the Hotel Indigo. The man was not authorized to use either credit card, police said.

Driving in Marked Lanes, October 20 — Police spotted a car drifting out of its lane at about 2 a.m. on Saturday morning. The driver was tested for alcohol and was below the legal limit, so he was given a citation for not staying in his lane and let go.

Shoplifting, October 20 — A girl was arrested for stealing $33 in merchandise from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall.

Possession of Marijuana, October 21 — Police were called to Beachwood Place Mall for reports of a theft. Officers investigated and then arrested a woman for stealing from Dillard's. She was also charged for receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A juvenile boy was also arrested for theft, police said.

Open Container, October 21 — Officers stopped a car on Twickenham Drive on early Sunday morning for driving without lights on. The driver was found to be intoxicated, and had an open container of alcohol in the car, and was arrested. Drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle.
