Thieves Break Into Cars In Beachwood Parking Lot

Police said four vehicles were broken into in an apartment parking lot. One vehicle had property stolen from inside it.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Four vehicles were broken into at the Deville Apartments East this week. Each of the cars were damaged overnight, according to police reports obtained by Patch.

Property was stolen from a gray GMC Sierra. The other vehicles appeared to merely have been broken into, based on police records.

Found property, Dec. 10 — Drug paraphernalia was found at Lifetime Fitness on Monday. The items were turned over to police.

License Suspension, Dec. 10 — Police stopped a car on Park East and arrested a driver with a suspended license.

Shoplifting, Dec. 10 — A woman was arrested for stealing $20 of merchandise from Giant Eagle on Chagrin Boulevard.

Criminal Damage, Dec. 11 — A black Chevy Impala was broken into and damaged while it was parked at the Deville Apartments East. The break-in is believed to have happened overnight, between Monday and Tuesday.

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Dec. 12 — Officers stopped a car on Chagrin Boulevard, at about 2:30 a.m., for speeding on I-271. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested.

Possession of Marijuana, Dec. 12 — Police stopped a car outside Beachwood Place Mall on Wednesday morning for driving with expired license plates. The driver was cited for driving the car. The passenger, the owner of the vehicle, was also cited for possession of marijuana.
