Warrensville Center Road Construction Starts Tuesday

Crews will be adding bike lanes, a median and pedestrian crossings to the roadway.

Construction season continues to escalate in Northeast Ohio. Crews will begin work on Warrensville Center Road on June 25, the city of University Heights announced on social media.

Work will be done to add bicycle lanes, crosswalks and a raised media between Fairmount Boulevard and Traymore Road. Construction will last approximately three weeks, the city said.

"Please use caution as you drive through the area and give the workers plenty of room as they work. Our officers will have zero tolerance for safety violations observed in the construction zone," University Heights officials warned on Facebook.

Construction continues throughout the east side, with work on Cedar Road scheduled to continue through September. The opportunity corridor work has also shut down access to I-490 between E. 55th and I-77. That route will remain closed for two years.
