Brecksville Police Blotter: Suspicious Credit Card Charges and Drug-Related Arrests

Driving under the influence:
A Seven Hills man was charged with driving under the influence and failing to control his vehicle after he hit a tree on Brecksville Road on Saturday. Police arrived at the scene shortly after 6 p.m. and took John W. Scott, 63, back to the station.

A Brecksville woman reported suspicious charges on her credit card to the police on Saturday. The woman lost her card on Wednesday and was notified by her bank the next day of unusual charges. The woman told police that the individual had spent about $200 at locations like McDonald's and the Hobby Lobby.

A traffic accident destroyed an Oakes Road resident’s mailbox on Friday. The resident said the mailbox had been custom-made to stand up against weather conditions and was expensive. The driver received a traffic citation.
Drug paraphernalia found:
A Medina woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police found syringes in her purse on Thursday. Mattia G. Robertson, 24, was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 77. She was searched after police learned that her license was suspended. Police also found a prescription drug that Robertson said was prescribed to her for heroin addiction. She was also charged for driving under suspension and for speeding.
