Donovans Kid's camp, for Ohio's amputee and veteran's kids

summer camp, Akron Rotary camp, summit county, child with amputation, veterans child

Donovan's Kids Camp, an affiliation of Project Summit that brought us the Wounded Warriors Amputee soft ball team June 2015 is working on raising awareness of the special needs of the awesome individuals.

Donovan’s kids camp is for children ages 8-14 that have amputations and for children that are relatives of US veterans.

In August of 2016 Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs, Project Summit, and Akron Children’s Hospital will be collaborating to provide Donovan’s Kids Camp. Donovan’s Kids Camp is a weeklong overnight camp experience created to provide children with amputations, as well as children of veterans, with the opportunity to experience the joys of camp in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Campers will also have an opportunity to develop friendships with other individuals who are going through situations similar to themselves, whether that be having an amputation or having a family member who has been in the military. Through these shared experiences, campers will not only develop a new set of friends, but also help develop a support system.

The Camp will take place from August 7-12, 2016
