Five Things You Should Know About Brecksville City Council Meeting

Council's committees are slated to meet at 6 p.m., followed by the regular council meeting at 8 p.m.

In case you’re unable to attend tonight’s council meeting, we thought we’d provide a preview of the action.

Here are five of the items council will discuss during committee meetings:

  1. Council’s building and grounds committee will discuss the new Highland Drive Elementary School baseball field.
  2. An update on the Blossom Hill Service Garage project is also expected.
  3. The roof at the community center and the fire station are expected to be replaced; city officials will present an update on those plans.
  4. The council’s safety-service committee will discuss a proposal that would allow mayor Jerry Hruby to apply to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for Western Lake Erie Basin Ash Removal Grant funding in the amount of $33,485 to remove about 250 dead or dying ash trees from city property and right-of-way.
  5. The utilities committee will hear the city engineer’s report, expected to include a number of storm sewer replacement projects as well as an update on the East Royalton Road Culvert Replacement Project.
