Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Canton Student

Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom

To’Mya Reed of Canton was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for April in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

To’Mya, a fourth grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by her teacher Mrs. Waltjen because of her attitude and determination to better herself as a student. As a Star Student, To’Mya will be presented a certificate recognizing her achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.

To’Mya came to Ohio Connections Academy midway through this school year because her mother, Melissa, wanted her in a more nurturing and supportive learning environment. She said her daughter is learning very well due to the flexibility, the availability of the staff and the well-designed assignments.
