Demolition of the old pavilion at Owls Nest Park is scheduled to start the week of June 14th. The building is structurally unsound and parts of it have been boarded up for years.

The lower floor of the building was used as the bathhouse for the CRC pool that was on site many years ago. It contains long unused toilet rooms and changing rooms. The upper floor had men’s and women’s rooms, but these also have been boarded up. The balcony at the back of the building has also been closed off for years due to illicit uses there since it is hidden from sight.

The condition of the building merits immediate demolition, which is funded from the Park Board’s current capital budget. After the building is removed the site will be restored and seeded.
