Cincinnati School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Cincinnati is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Cincinnati Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/15: Professional Meeting Day
• 8/16: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/18: No School for Students (Staff Professional Development Day)

October

• 10/13: End of First Quarter
• 10/23: No School for Students (Staff Professional Development Day)

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Election Day, Conference Day)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/15: end of Second Quarter
• 12/18 - 12/29: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/2: Schools Reopen
• 1/8: No School for Students (Staff Professional Development Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/5: No School for Students (Teacher Learning Teams)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/9: End of Third Quarter
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/2: School Reopen

May

• 5/24: Last Day of School, End of Fourth Quarter
• 5/25: Last Day for Teachers, Professional Meeting Day

June

• 6/4 - 6/29: Elementary and Senior Summer School
