Local Artists and Disney Illustrator Create New Children's Book

Local toy designers Jenn and Tony Bot have partnered with illustrator 64 Colors to release "Luna and the Magical Night Lights."

Local artists Jenn and Tony Bot have been designing and customizing original art toys since 2010. One of their latest pieces, Luna, was nominated for multiple designer toy awards. While the toy brought Luna to life, the Bots still felt the world surrounding their character had yet to be fully realized. With their upcoming children's book, "Luna and The Magical Night Lights," this dream is being brought to life with original illustrations from the artist 64 Colors, whose work has spanned clients such as Disney, McGraw-Hill, and Houghton Mifflin.

Aimed at collectors and children alike, this one-of-a-kind art book expands upon Luna's story. Half origin, half mythos, the book deals with life, death, and celebration from one end of the world to the other. 64 Colors' illustration, fine art, and book design experience truly shine through in the previewed cover art and interior pages. Bursting with fantasy and color, they flesh out Luna's world while accurately replicating the Bots' signature style.

Author Jessica Ervin's whimsical prose further deepens Luna's story in rhyming couplets. For art enthusiasts with children looking for a way to get their little ones interested in collecting, 64 Colors' rich illustrations combined with Luna's story are sure to win over kids and adults. Equally as exciting is the fact that Luna is already available as a collectible toy at online retailers like Rotofugi, Urban Vinyl Daily Toys, and Strange Cat Toys.

For The Bots, "Luna and The Magical Night Lights" represents exciting frontier for two artists who are known for their original character design. Expanding their beloved character's story through a new medium allows their work to reach a wider audience, while also bringing more attention to the designer toy scene. The opportunity to collaborate with another high-profile artist is equally exciting, with the quality of 64 Colors' clients shining through in the book's beautiful illustrations.

"Luna and The Magical Night Lights" has been in development for several years and is now nearing completion. A Kickstarter campaign is currently running to raise the final funds to complete the project, which will be published through an Ohio press. Rewards in the campaign range from copies of the book to collectible art toys and prints.
