TriHealth Invests in Clean Air, Healthy Lungs in Cincinnati
Leading hospital system sponsors the Fight For Air Climb
Today, the American Lung Association in Ohio announced that TriHealth has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the 15th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb at Carew Tower, happening on February 9 in Cincinnati.
The Fight For Air Climb invites individuals, families, groups of friends, corporate teams and first responders to race up the stairs of Carew Tower, a total of 45 floors, 804 steps.
“Through events like the Fight For Air Climb, we are able to fund our work to improve air quality, educate residents on lung health and help people who live with lung disease,” said Laura Metzler, executive director for the Lung Association. “But we can’t do it alone. Our partnership with TriHealth helps us provide vital support to the Cincinnati community. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those suffering from lung cancer, this support makes people’s lives better every day.”

TriHealth provides a wide range of clinical, educational, preventive and social programs through two acute care hospitals, Bethesda and Good Samaritan Hospital, and more than 130 sites of care. TriHealth's non-hospital services include physician practice management, fitness centers and fitness center management, occupational health centers, home health and hospice care.

The mission of the American Lung Association is near and dear to our hearts, as we share a common goal of inspiring people to healthy action and influencing health outcomes. Together, I believe we can truly make a difference,” said Jeanette Altenau, director of community relations for TriHealth. “We hope to see our community come together for a fun and inspiring event in February.”

In Ohio, more than 1.6 million people suffer from lung disease, and this year alone, more than 9,500 residents will be diagnosed with lung cancer. The Fight For Air Climb raises awareness for lung disease, raises money for life-saving research, and funds critical local programing like educational programs to help local children manage their asthma and free programs to help locals quit smoking.
