Union Announces Three New Bachelor of Science Majors

The three majors are Health Care Administration, Applied Technology and Business Leadership, and Human Services Administration.

Three new Bachelor of Science majors have been announced at Union Institute & University for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The three majors are Health Care Administration, Applied Technology and Business Leadership, and Human Services Administration.

“These new majors meet the need for leaders with real world skills in these fast growing industries,” said Sonya M. Fultz, UI&U Senior Director for Enrollment and Academic Partnerships and former chair of the Southwestern Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) Articulation and Transfer Committee. “Union is known for its leadership programs designed for the working adult.”

Health Care Administration prepares graduates to lead in one of the fastest growing industries in the country. This major equips graduates to become a flexible and resilient administrator in hospitals, physician offices, care facilities and other health care for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Applied Technology and Business Leadership teaches critical skills needed to lead in today’s technology fields such as medical technology, computer science, web development, automotive, construction, paralegal and business management.

Human Services Administration fulfills the need for leaders in state agencies, counseling centers, and community based for-profit and non-profit organizations.

For students transferring from a community college Union transfers up to 90 credit hours from prior college or work experience.

“UI&U has formed a partnership with over 20 community colleges to provide a seamless and cost-effective pathway from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree,” said Fultz.

Union is one of only 78 colleges and universities across the country named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s 2019 Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways Union has created to support transfer students.
