Welcome Clinical Mental Health Counseling Students

The program features online learning combined with face-to-face residency experiences.

Dr. Rosalyn Brown Beatty and the Union Institute & University Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) faculty welcome students, alumni, and guests to residency this week. Residency provides an opportunity for students to engage in theme-based counseling instruction, applied skill workshops, research seminars, role play, and other activities to support engagement with theory and practice of the profession.

Coursework in the CMHC program prepares students for certification or licensure as a professional counselor or clinical mental health counselor. The program features online learning combined with face-to-face residency experiences. The mission is to support every student as a professional colleague in gaining counseling concepts and skills, and also to encourage reflective growth on the journey to help others. CMHC is accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Dr. Rosalyn Y. Brown Beatty, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, is the Director of CMHC and the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counseling Graduate Certificate Program at Union Institute & University. The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling certificate is a fully online graduate certificate offered as a stand-alone program or embedded in the master’s program.
