Columbus Businesses Invest in Fight Against Lung Disease

Today, the American Lung Association in Ohio announced that U.S. Bank and Radio U have signed on as the presenting sponsors for the 10th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb at Rhodes Tower on February 15.

The Fight For Air Climb invites individuals, families, groups of friends, corporate teams and first responders to race up the stairs of Rhodes Tower, a total of 40 floors, 880 steps.

“Through events like the Fight For Air Climb, we are able to fund our work to improve air quality, educate residents on lung health and help people who suffer from lung disease,” said Brittany Sinzinger, senior manager of development for the Lung Association. “But we can’t do it alone. Our partnership with these organizations helps us provide vital support to the Columbus community. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those suffering from lung cancer, this support makes people’s lives better every day.”

In Ohio, more than 1.6 million people suffer from lung disease, and this year alone, more than 9,500 residents will be diagnosed with lung cancer. The Fight For Air Climb raises awareness for lung disease, raises money for life-saving research, and funds critical local programing like educational programs to help local children manage their asthma and free programs to help locals quit smoking.

Other sponsors for the Fight For Ai Climb include Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Mount Carmel Health, and ProCheck Radon Systems, LLC.
