Jingle Bell Run Returns To Columbus In December

The 2017 Jingle Bell Run Columbus will honor Central Ohio locals who are battling arthritis.

COLUMBUS, OH - From The Arthritis Foundation: The 2017 Jingle Bell Run will bring a merry helping of festive holiday cheer to Columbus on December 2, festivities beginning at 8:00am at the Genoa Park, 303 W. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215.

Jingle Bell Run is the nation’s most jolly holiday-themed 5K run. Participants wear their favorite holiday costumes or ugly Christmas sweaters and tie bells to their shoes creating a chorus of jingles as they run or walk through the course.

Starting and ending in the beautifully decorated Genoa Park. this year’s Jingle Bell Run is presented by Meijer and will feature a 5k route produced by M3S Sports, a visit from Santa, mascots galore, a kids area and fun run, holiday music by Sunny 95, and pizza by Papa John’s at the finish line. The 2017 Jingle Bell Run Columbus will honor Central Ohio locals who are battling arthritis. Arthritis causes slow and painful deterioration of the body’s bones, ligaments, cartilage and tendons. More than 54 million Americans have arthritis (1 in 4 adults), including 2.5 million adults and 12,000 kids in Ohio. All Jingle Bell Run proceeds will support the Arthritis Foundation’s mission to conquer and cure arthritis.

Giana Fasone 14 years old, Westerville was diagnosed with systemic onset idiopathic juvenile arthritis (SOIJA) when he was only 8 years old. As this year’s youth honoree, Giana wants to help other kids going through the same disease know that they are NOT ALONE in this battle.

Pete Scalia of 10TV, residing in Pickerington, is battling rheumatoid arthritis. As this year’s adult honoree, Pete wants to raise awareness through his team, Scalia’s Superheroes, and fundraise for a cure to this debilitating disease.
