Ohio Connections Academy recognized for special education

Ohio Connections Academy (OCA), a tuition-free, full-time public virtual school serving K-12 students throughout the state, was recently selected by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) as an Exceptional Charter School in Special Education for 2021. This distinction has been bestowed upon only 21 qualified charter schools across the country.

Selection as a NASET Exceptional Charter School in Special Education is the highest level of recognition a charter school can achieve through this professional association. This honor is presented to charter schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated truly exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education.

The National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) is a national membership organization dedicated to supporting and assisting teachers and future teachers of special education. It was founded to promote the profession of special education teachers and to provide a national forum for their ideas. NASET seeks to meet a critical need for special education teachers. It develops and promotes professional excellence through the support of teachers who provide services to children with special needs.
