Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Columbus Student
Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom
Yeshua Cosme of Columbus was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for May in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.
Yeshua, a sixth grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Bodo because of his attitude towards learning and the hard work he puts into his academics. He also helps to make the online classroom fun for his classmates. As a Star Student, Yeshua will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.
Yeshua’s parents enrolled him in Ohio Connections Academy this year as he struggled to learn in a traditional classroom. Although it took Yeshua some time to make the transition to the online learning environment, his mother Tara believes he is in a better place as the teachers and support staff are more accessible and always willing to help.
