Columbus Park Evacuated After Something Turns Creek White (Photo)

Police evacuated the park and fire officials were investigating the chemical, police tell Patch.

COLUMBUS, OH – Big Run Park has been evacuated as firefighters and hazmat teams investigate a substance that turned a creek white. Police, firefighters and a hazmat team were called to the park Tuesday, the Columbus Division of Police tells Patch.

Police blocked off the area and closed the park down so fire officials could look into what happened. Police say the city's Division of Fire will investigate exactly what was put into the creek.

Police say officers near a police substation in the area must have stumbled upon a creek that had turned an unnatural white color. Something might have been placed into the water to make it look that way.
