Shooting At Vigil In Columbus Leaves 1 Dead, 5 Wounded
Gunfire rang out in the parking lot of a Dollar General store as mourners remembered another homicide victim.
COLUMBUS, OH — One person was killed, and five others injured, at a vigil in Columbus Saturday night, according to local news reports.
Shots were fired outside a Dollar General store in the 5000 block of Chatterton Road in southeast Columbus just after 7:30 p.m. as people gathered for a vigil to remember someone who had been killed in a homicide, WSYX and WCMH reported.
The identity of the fatal victim had not been released as of 10 a.m. Sunday. The conditions of the wounded in the Columbus vigil shooting were also not yet available.

Jacqueline Smith, a Columbus resident, told WCMH that gun violence at a vigil where people are already grieving is unacceptable.
“A family lost a person already, and for someone to come and do something like that, it’s just sad,” Smith told the news station.
